Daily Dose of Blairmont 60

This battered old townhouse looks to have been vacant for a while. The ground level is boarded up to prevent entry, but the upper level has no windows, allowing deterioration to continue.

That slumping wood-frame addition would need to go, but is there any physical reason the rest of the house couldn't be renovated and returned to use?

Well, maybe one: half of the back wall has spalled off. This appalling condition requires immediate remediation, probably a complete re-laying of the back wall. Without it, the property is unstable, possibly a danger to the neighborhood.

Blairmont's had nearly three years to do it, but it hasn't happened yet.

Edit: Since these photos were taken, the house has been demolished down to the foundation. The relatively neat and thorough nature of the demolition makes brick rustling seem less likely, but there are no fences to secure the work site, implying something unprofessional.
